Google Sheet Sync

You can connect a Google Sheets spreadsheet to an Atlist map to automatically import new markers in real-time.

Step 1: Prepare Your Google Sheet

Your spreadsheet must include at least one of the following:

  • Address
  • Latitude & Longitude

You can also include optional columns:

Column Notes
Name The marker's title.
Address The marker’s address (if not using latitude/longitude).
Latitude The latitude coordinate (if not using an address).
Longitude The longitude coordinate (if not using an address).
Notes Additional text or details about the marker.
Group Markers can belong to only one group.
Use HTML Set to TRUE if you'd like to use HTML in the Notes column.
Button Link A clickable button URL. Learn more about buttons.
Tags Separate multiple tags with commas.

Step 2: Sync Your Google Sheet with Atlist

  1. Click Import a Spreadsheet and select Connect Google Sheet.
  2. Enter the URL of your Google Sheet.
  3. Important: Make sure your spreadsheet’s share settings are set to "Anyone on the internet with the link can view."

Fetching New Data

Atlist automatically updates from your Google Sheet at a frequency you choose:

You can also manually refresh the data anytime by clicking the Fetch New Data button:

Editing Marker Data

When your map is synced to a Google Sheet, some features are disabled:

  • You cannot add new markers manually in Atlist.
  • You cannot edit marker details directly in Atlist.

To make changes, update the Google Sheet instead.

Custom Marker Styles & Photos

You can still apply custom marker styles and add photos while using a synced Google Sheet.

However, Atlist matches markers based on their Name and Address. If either changes in your Google Sheet, any associated custom styles or photos will be lost.

Start with a Blank Map

Syncing a Google Sheet will erase any existing markers on your map. Be sure to start with a blank map or save any important markers beforehand.
